At the heart of the Kern County Paralegal Association (KCPA) is a team of dedicated professionals who make up our Board of Directors. Elected annually by our members, these individuals volunteer their passion, expertise, and commitment to advancing the paralegal profession in Kern County. Cynthia "Cyndy" Biggs
President, Community Affairs Coordinator & CAPA Representative
Cynthia (“Cyndy”) Biggs is serving on the Kern County Paralegal Association 2024-2025 Board in the position of President, Community Affairs Coordinator and a CAPA Representative. Cyndy has served as Secretary several times through the years and enjoyed the position. She has been in the legal profession since 1998 starting out as a legal secretary and becoming a paralegal in 2015. Although she has worked in various areas of the legal profession, she specializes in transactional law. Contact Cyndy at president@kernparalegal.org.

April Erndt
Vice President & Public Information Officer
April is serving on the 2024-2025 KCPA Board of Directors as Vice President and the Public Information Officer. April was the previous President of the KCPA and does all of the social media posting for the association.

Stephanie Jones
Treasurer
Stephanie is an experienced paralegal and serves as the Board’s Treasurer. Contact her at treasurer@kernparalegal.org.

Megan Simons
Secretary & Webmaster
Megan is returning as the KCPA board as the Webmaster and has assumed the role of Secretary for the 2024-2025 year. She loves her job at Clifford & Brown as an Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration and Business Formation Paralegal. Megan is also attending the Kern County College of Law through their hybrid online program and plans to graduate with her Juris Doctorate in May of 2027.

Sissy Rucker
Director of Member Services & Newsletter Editor
Sissy Rucker is serving on the Kern County Paralegal Association 2024-2025 Board in the position of Member Services Director and is taking on the roll of Co-Newsletter Editor. She has been a Board Member several times through the years and enjoys it. Sissy has been in the legal profession since 1980 starting out as a legal secretary and becoming a paralegal in 2006. She has a wealth of experience in many areas of the legal practice and believes in sharing her knowledge with others in the profession. The paralegal profession is very important to the legal field and we need to be unified as a profession.
